Gaining knowledge is the first step to wisdom. Sharing it is the first step to humanity. Such a thought drives many of us to improve know-how and develop expertise in our field of interest.

This newsletter follows the last with more information about learning opportunities in antenna measurement techniques. We are proud to promote the latest book by MVG’s scientific director, Lars Foged in collaboration with Manuel Sierra Castañer, professor at Universidad Politécnica de Madrid.

Post-processing Techniques in Antenna Measurement summarizes developments in post-processing that are improving the quality and effectiveness of modern antenna measurements. Recent advances in near to far field transformation algorithms for enhancing measurement accuracy in the presence of different common error sources are explained as well as developments in techniques for reducing acquisition time and the effect of echoes, noise, and leakage.

A range of experts from academia and industry have contributed to this book, which explains and illustrates through practical examples several efficient source reconstruction techniques, and the use of modal and spatial filtering to understand intimate features of measured antennas. Phase recovery techniques are explained, and the book demonstrates how combining simulations and measurements can allow for more accurate and faster antenna designs. This book is a useful resource for academics and industry professionals alike interested in both antenna measurement and antenna design.
