The MVG CR-M is a unique chamber among all Australian universities, enabling us to test antenna far-field performance in both the 8 GHz–26.5 GHz and 60 GHz–90 GHz frequency bands.
The challenge:
Working to develop advanced mmWave antennas for 4G/5G, to test E-band antennas, and to research other upcoming wireless communication systems in a lab with a limited footprint, the Global Big Data Technologies Centre (GBDTC) at the University of Technology Sydney needed an antenna test chamber that would not only meet the testing requirements of high frequency wireless technology, but also fit in its lab.
With the support of the MVG CR-M, a mini-compact range providing accurate, high-frequency far-field antenna measurements in a space less than 3.8m² , they have been able to expand their R&D scope and advance development on projects such as beam-scanning technology for emergency services.
Learn how the University of Technology Sydney is benefitting from its MVG compact anechoic test chamber to become one of Australia’s leaders in advanced antenna research.
