In a previous paper a referenceless measurement set-up based on a reference antenna was used to characterize the near-field radiation of antennas in the planar and spherical multiprobe systems. This paper proposes an alternative technique based on exploiting the intrinsic characteristics of multiprobe systems. One of the antennas from the multiprobe arch is used to retrieve the relative phase between measurement points. Post- processing is needed since the relative phase between azimuth cuts is lost. The advantages, limitations and results are shown. The results demonstrate that the technique is very promising for characterizing devices under certain conditions.
