The MVG facility in San Diego: AEMI, major US-based manufacturing site for test chamber absorbing materials, has installed a 323 kW solar power array onto the roof of its factory.
With 360 days per year of sun in Southern California, it was an obvious choice in deciding where to take next steps toward reducing MVG’s carbon footprint.
The system now covers roughly 50% of AEMI's electricity needs, thereby reducing costs, but more importantly, it is an encouraging step toward environmental sustainability.
Some of the environmental benefits of this solar panel installation:
Annual carbon emission reduction (tons) - 139
Equivalent trees planted over life of system - 4,620
Equivalent car miles removed from road - 6,585,650
